Renato Sanches has officially signed up with PSG for the next five years until 2027. The Portuguese has yet to decide on his new shirt number in Paris, possibly awaiting Georginio’s departure Wijnaldum at AS Roma?
PSG have completed their fourth summer reinforcement. After Vitinha, Hugo Ekitike and Nordi Mukiele, the capital club has won the services of Renato Sanches. The Portuguese has officially signed up with the capital club for 5 years, i.e. until 2027. He is the second player from Ligue 1 to join the ranks of Paris in this summer transfer window, a first since 2011. Hugo Ekitike and now former LOSC player Kylian Mbappé were the latest recruits from the French league.
In the wake of his arrival, the Lusitano met his first media obligations. However, he has not yet chosen the jersey number he will wear at PSG. The alternatives remain few and the Portuguese is already certain of not recovering the 10 he wore at LOSC. The imminent departure of Georginio Wijnaldum to AS Roma could offer him the opportunity to grab 18, a number he knows well for having also had it with the Mastiffs.
With the change in regulations adopted by the Professional Football League (LFP) from this season, residents of Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 are now free to display a number between 1 and 99, which in reality offers a wide choice in Portuguese. Based on the numbers he has worn during his career so far, the 24-year-old midfielder could also find his number 85 from his debut at SL Benfica. The verdict should be known soon.
The current list of PSG shirt numbers:
- Wijnaldum (Sanches?)
- Dina Ebimbe
