Formula 1 | Alfa Romeo F1 sports new livery in Baku

Alfa Romeo F1 unveiled new colors on its C42 this Thursday in Baku. During the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, the single-seaters of Valtteri Bottas and Guanyu Zhou will sport a green rear part, and no longer red.

The team thus pays homage to the Italian flag, but also to the brand’s new electrified range. Indeed, one can read the inscription ‘Ibrido’, or ‘hybrid’, on the engine cover of the single-seaters designed in Hinwil.

Alfa Romeo revealed that this livery was made to pay homage to the brand’s new hybrid SUV, the Tonale. We also notice a visual pattern resembling scales on the lower part of the sidepods, and this is actually the light signature of the Tonale.

The green color recalls both the Italian identity of the brand, but also the presentation color of the Tonale. It is indeed a special decoration to mark the release of the model this weekend, and the C42s will return to their classic livery for the Montreal GP, if the press release is to believe.
