The AAD, the African Aerospace and Defense Exhibition returns to Pretoria. After two years of absence due to the coronavirus pandemic, the South African capital is once again hosting the best in air defense. More than 200 exhibitors from 24 countries are present this year.
Organized for 20 years, the AAD show now ranks among the six largest events of its kind in the world.
“Defence is a very important area for South Africa.recalls the Minister of Defense Thandi Modise present Wednesday for the inauguration of the event. This represents a lot of jobs but it is above all one of the pillars of our nation. Without the defense industry we would be very exposed in today’s world.”
Planes, helicopters, drones can be admired on the tarmac at Waterkloof Air Force Base until Sunday. The show will be open to the public throughout the weekend. Nearly 10,000 onlookers are expected to attend the traditional air shows in particular.
