he volunteers of the ABD, the media library of Dammarie, and its manager, Laurence Charron, have been preparing for several weeks the first book fair of Dammarie, which will take place in the heart of the town, tomorrow, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Two sites on the Place de l’Eglise, 50 meters apart, will host this literary event which should mark the start of the new school year. The Amsperluète bookstore in Chartres, partner of the meeting, and the authors will settle in the communal hall while the conferences will follow one another at the ABD media library.

“A fair promotes reading and culture and it is the role of the media library to act in this direction. We wanted to create a literary event, an event that puts authors, books and literature at the heart of the public space, for a day. It is also a question of valuing, highlighting, making discover the talents of our territory which are numerous”, underlined Laurence Charron, the manager of the ABD, to explain the motivations of the organizers of this first book fair.

Olivier Lhostis, director of the Esperluète bookstore, will sell the books of the invited authors. They will interact with visitors and sign their books.

In addition, four different and very rich themes will be addressed during the conferences during the day. “It’s also a cultural celebration which, we hope, will bring residents and visitors together around the authors with whom they can talk. I absolutely wanted to combine a program of conferences with the book section,” says Laurence Charron.
